Thanks Sarita for getting this thread up.

I know it is early for some peeps to plan, but in my life if it isn't on the calendar a few months ahead of time there won't be room on the calendar for it! :wink:

I'm just running with the idea that someone had and felt that August/September would probably have the best weather and warmest water temps.

Since the weekend AFTER Labor Day was chosen, we may not have trouble booking but I think that there is a car show the same weekend we're going to be there.

One last thing, it is easier to cancel a hotel/dive boat reservation than to make one at the last minute.

Since I'm posting in the Monterey area forum, does anyone have a dive boat recommendation on a boat that they just love???

We really liked the Sanctuary, but it only carries 6 divers:14: Our second recommendation would be the Monterey Express.

We also have a reservation at the Lone Oak for the weekend. Just in case!

The Monterey Express has morning and afternoon charters available on both Sat & Sun with all 20 spots open. If there's enough interest we could possibly charter the whole boat for one morning or afternoon charter and split the cost and the savings. I'll shoot Capt Tim an e-mail and see what he says.

Good news SBers. Capt Tim of the Monterey Express has graciously knocked $10 off the regular rate to fill spaces on an as needed bases for our MAG. That's $75 per person for a 2 tank dive instead of the regular $85. If we fill all 20 spaces we can get it for $65 per person.
Thank-You Capt Tim. :clapping::clapping::clapping:

We also have another option thanks to Ann Marie. :clapping::clapping::clapping:

Ann Marie is working on getting a 3 tank dive charter thru MBDC. This boat will accommodate 14 divers @ $67.50 per person.

OMG NO.... SO CALers Invading Monterey?????

Is this gonna be like the Family Guy Episode where all the NYers come to Quohag to look at the pretty leaves and start takin over the town???

If it is... We need a Redhead who can kick everyones butt...... HAHAHAHAHA

I'll wear a wig - but come on people - we need more locals to make this all work.

I'm sure I can convince my merry band of roving gypsies to attend. That'll be good for 4-6 additional people.
