Have you ever seen a wreck with a yardarm? Have you ever seen a wreck with a yardarm IN PLACE?? I've had the good fortune of diving a wreck or two and had never expected to see such a thing - it's rare just to have the mast standing and maybe even a BIT of the crowsnest left, if you're really lucky.

The 3 masted, 136' long schooner Cornelia B. Windiate lies in 185' of water in Lake Huron. She sunk in 1875 and somehow the yardarm on the mizzen mast is still attached. If you have the training to see this wreck I highly recommend it. That yardarm, if other wrecks are anything to go by, won't stand for ever.

Those are some amazing shots...Looks like a great dive

More importantly....

Is the sun over the yardarm yet?

(Just joking - Nice pics.)

On our 8-hour drive back from Alpena, we did a top ten list for all the Great Lakes wrecks that we visited so far...

This wreck, Windiate, was #2, ahead of Minnedosa, Dunderberg, Jodrey. It's so intact and beautiful, it blew us away.

Is it located close to the Dunderberg and minnedosa ???

Same direction, about 3 hours further north around Saginaw Bay. Alpena and Rogers City are closer to Straits of Mackinac than Harbor Beach where Minnedosa and Dunderberg are

Harbor Beach is about 4 hrs from TO

wow, that wreck looks amazing

I have to ask Vlada. What was number 1?
