I am researching pricing for a Canon S80. This camera normally runs around $430 but have found one on www.WiseTronics.com for $369.99. Everything seems above board but price seems too good to be true? Has anyone had any dealings with this site?

The saying "....to good to be true..." exists for a reason.

Although I have no personal dealings with wisetronics.com, that is because I have been burned in the past and now limit my dealings to those with a proven track record, such as B&H and Adorama.

This has all the earmarks of a "cored out box", where sure enough you get a camera and the box. If you want such trivial items as the battery, cables, software, charger, etc, these are extra cost and usually add up to more than a reputable retailer.

BTW, a quick Google popped up this experienceon the very first page.

All the best, James

I second the motion on B&H, but recently I have been unhappy with Adorama. On my last two orders, the website said the product was in stock, but I got an email the next day saying the product was back ordered. I have moved my business to Beach Camera for standard stuff, and have been very happy. I use B&H for harder to find stuff.

Wow! I normally do google companies but never thought about it this time. Thanks for the posting your research.

I actually called Wisetronics.com the other day to inquire on the camera. However, when they found out that I only wanted the camera and not the over priced SD card and batteries they conveniently ran out of the S80.

I've done pricing research on several camera companies. B&H has the best prices overall when looking the whole package - camera, card, batteries, housing, and service.

Thanks for all of the postings.

I too am looking for one and have found good pricing at www.everyprice.com. It gives you the prices and actual customer reviews of the experience. I am looking to get one too (with Ikelite housing) but I want to wait until I get my tax refund.

Let me know how you make out,

Dave

You had better do a reseller rating check on everyprice.com too. Looks like they sell products from many retailers (ala Amazon) and some of them look a little shady.
