True, but highest rate of expansion is in the shallowest water, and the amount of air needed for a ring is not that much. Air compresses to 1/2 in 33 ft of water. Wouldn't take more than 1/2 lung full to overexpand. Looks like he starts in about 30ft or less.

Still impressive.
 
Yes, we were at 32 feet.
Back on the boat, David told me had only been doing it for a couple of months. I will see him the week of 4/4-4/11 and ask him if he still does the famous "air ring swim thru".
