4 years ago i walked into this particuliar dive shop for the first time.
after some time the owner sold me a complete upgrade of zeagle gear.
one of the selling points was, with annual service i would pay for labor, $25 per stage, and parts are free.

i have taken my gear to this shop every spring.

every time i've gone back to pick up my gear, i get the same story:
- you don't clean your gear.
-it took a long time to clean up the mess.
-we won't service your gear until you take the equipment specialist class
-they charge an extra $15 per stage

i took the class.

picked up my gear yesterday.
got the same story and was charged extra again.

i've been diving since 1966.
i've kept up with technology and upgrade about every 8 years or so.
to date i've yet to experience any gear failures.
i know how to clean and store my gear.

this lds is 1 1/2 hours away and is the closest one to us.
i've tried to be a loyal customer.
my wife is telling me to find another lds.

last year they charged me $30 to clean my brand new gauges.
i did not buy them from him and did not expect the service.
when i got on board the belize aggressor the gauges showed 1000 lbs too much.
the captain loaned me his gauges.
when confronted with this the lds told me that gauges can go bad any time.

will i be able to find another lds that carries the zeagle line AND will honour the warranty?

regards,

Listen to your wife.

Plenty of service is available by mail. Scuba Toys in Texas or Diver's Direct in Florida can help you. Both stages are serviced by Diver's Direct for $37, total. You may be able to get free parts if you have the records that your gear has been kept up-to-date.

Do you smile & hold up your hands everytime you go in?, cuz you getting robbed....

It never ceases to amaze me how some people will faithfully keep returning to a LDS that screws them over and over and over. I've known people who have been screwed by their LDS and people who have been screwed by an online DS, but the difference is I've never found anyone who remains loyal to an online DS that keeps screwing them over.

since i bought the gear from them, are they the only lds i can go to?
or
will another zeagle dealer lds service my rig under warranty?
thank you,

your wife sounds like a smart lady. i'd heed her advise. i hate to hear stories about people gettin ripped off. mainly because the LDS here in greenville sc provides such great service. there's also another one in spartanburg which is great also. i'd def listen to the wifey

No problem on the warranty... If you bought it from an authorized dealer - you are set. The first stage, second stage, octo, etc - whole reg setup is $49.95 and parts are free.

But as other people have said... there are probably plenty of places that would love your business and take care of you.
