I drove down on Sunday afternoon to dive on Monday. It was a good plan until I got to the Kittyhawk interchange. Complete gridlock!!! note to self: bad plan do not repeat. I took a 45 minute foul getting accrossed the bridge and into Whalebone, after that smooth traveling again.
I stayed overnight on the boat. It was my first trip on the "Under Pressure". Capt. JT was very gracious letting me stay on the boat. We swapped diving stories for a while and I hit the rack.
Mondauy broke to reveal clear skies, not to hot, and smaller seas than on Sunday. The rest of the passengers arrived and off we went. I was hopimng for something deeper, but JT advised that due to recent currents and vis the Dixie Arrow would be the destination.
Kim had us tied up in no time and the pool was open. Current was about 1 knot. Stiff but manageable on the bottom. The bottom was a balmy 70 and vis was around a solid 40 foot to 50. I did two long soaks 60 min runtime each on 30/20 and 70 percent. 3 sand tigers were present as well as a squadron of wrays, and the ever present barracuda. A very good trip and I would highly reccomend the "under pressure" to anyone who has not been on her for a dive trip.
Eric

P.S
The elavator is the $hit!!! It makes doubles and a stage so much more enjoyable.
