Never stayed there. I understand Belmar is also under Buddy management. If the management staff is the same as Buddy I can't imagine it being anything but great. Both the dive and resort staff at Buddy are great.
If you don't mind staying a little ways off the water, Golden Reef Inn is a good alternative. It's not quite as upscale as Buddy-not that Buddy is fancy but a lot less expenisve. Liz, who is a member of this board, will take good care of you at GRI. www.goldenreefinn.com
If you want on the water, Sand Dollar, Eden Beach and Den Lamen are all on the water and next door to Buddy. Bonaire is a small island so no place is far off the water and there are a bunch of sites that are easy to get to.

We stayed there in 2000 when it was the Bonaire Caribbean Club. It was a fun place as the Manager/Chef/Bartender was quite entertaining and served a killer Brazilian BBQ on Fridays, but he left it apparently changed ownership since then. The rooms were fairly spartan. We had a studio and it had a tiny fridge and a table top burner for a kitchen. It is a little isolated as it is a few miles N of Kralendijk catty corner about 100 yards from Oil Slick Leap (not a bad dive site) so there were plenty donkey encounters and it is close to all the other dive sites. There was a satellite dive shop on site, but it is not directly on the water like Buddys.
