This is the day Genaral Sam made it happen. 170 years ago. Caught Santa Ana among the refinerys and he couldn't get out. Are they going to move the staute from Huntsville to the Battfield for the ceremony tommorrow?

And what a great day it was then and still is today !!!

Thanks for your post ! :D

That's been acclaimed as the most decisive battle in the history of warfare, in that never before nor since has so short a battle (18 minutes) with such unfavorable odds (2.5:1 against the Texians), after such grievous defeats (the Alamo, Goliad), caused the instant loss of so much territory (all the way up to Wyoming), and created an entire nation (the Republic of Texas) -- all in about the time it takes to polish off a hamburger if you're polite about it.

I was on a tour of an old fortress in Mexico City once and the guide referred to Santa Ana as the coward who gave away 1/3 of of his country in order to save his own life.

For those who forget, There was the little matter of the mexican/american war. Gen. R.E.Lee fought in it, when he was a union officer, along with a host of other civil war generals.
