That one was used by one of the regular divers on one of my favorite locations (and yeah, they where both british)....
The gesture/sign for "tank/cylinder" on page 21 is open to some heavy misinterpretation though... especially if diving with a British diver! LOL
I can't imagine me giving a dive briefing and showing this "hand" signal anywhere.

I'm sure it would be appropriate at some point. Just don't do it on someone's 100th dive and I think you're okay.
