Koko crater....great spot to practice skills...lol

Too bad the walks up and down Lanai or Blow Hole are just too much for my bad knees. :bawling: I know John Hoover dives Lanai, a lot and gets some great pictures out there.

We had a resident frogfish on the Sea Tiger for over 9 Months and right now there is a pitch black one on the bridge....I found a beautiful red one on the San Pedro a while back and often find one on the YO too....Kewalo Pipe, there is a beautiful dark green frogfish - but he has an attitude - will turn his tail towards you if you move in too close.

Devil Scorpions I find all over the place, it is the Titans that I have trouble finding...lol
Too bad that I missed the Frogfish on the San Pedro and the YO during my dives a week and a half ago. I would have especially liked to have seen the red variety. The day I visited those 2 wrecks was when the current was really ripping so the Froggies were probably very well tucked away.

When you say the bridge, what do you mean? Sounds like I missed a dive site while out your way.

Thanks soooo much Lisa for sharing your images. I just knew that the red variety was going to be quite photogenic, as you have proven. Now I understand what you meant when you mentioned one at the bridge. I was thinking that there was a dive site somewhere at the base of some bridge... tourists, what do we know anyway!

Might I suggest heading out a bit further to Lanai Point and do some wall diving? Obviously not to be done as a shore dive

actually it can be done as a shore dive and is done so fairly regularly, I have about fifteen dives there as a shore dive. But and this is a big but you have to go with someone who knows where to go, how to get in, and more importantly how to get out. There is only a small channel to exit from. It is an amazing shore dive, although I haven't seen any froggies there myself, I have met the resident monk seal, seen huge ulua, heard the whales quite distinctly, saw dolphins from quite a distance, amazing photos of banner fish is to be had, and just a fun and exciting dive altogether.

Very welcome :D

considering the names of some dive sites, The Bridge sounds like it would be a cool site..lol

i was wondering about the diving there too. not that i would dive there, cause i'd only go there with non-diving people to go snorkling. kids mostly.

i did notice when i was there, that certain scuba parts were closed. i think the site i remember was called the toilet bowl, interesting enough name, is it an interesting site?

on a somewhat related note... i saw part of 'when beaches attack' on the travel channel last night. when they did the part on snorkling deaths they were at hanauma, although they only said they were in hawaii.

I know it's not diving, but doesn't Hanauma Bay do Kama'aina night snorkeling tours on the weekends?

During the winter they are open until 10p.m. on the second Saturday of every month. During the summer I believe it is the 2nd and last Saturday of each month. It is open to everybody and you can dive or snorkel. I have done about 6 night dives out there over the past few month. Once the viz and current weren't all that great. The other times you could see by the moonlight in 40-50fsw.
