P.S.: The hammerhead didn't stick around; I've read in other threads that they tend to be skittish compared to some other sharks. Wonder why?

This guy was huge, but the moment I headed in his direction to get video of him, he did ROAD RUNNER cartoon simulation, and blasted out of there. And full speed on a DPV, along with full swimming speed doing turbo...is exactly dead stop compared to a hammerhead trying to move fast :)

This particular shark...maybe 15 or 16 foot hammerhead, has been seen several times in the last 1 month, in this area of the fingers...the outside reef. The Sea Mist and some of the other fishing boats may pull him in, as they fish off the reef line on occasions.
