Dove Halfway Rock and the Polling yesterday off the Daybreaker. Great dives with lots of marine life visible everywhere. Vis was in the 15 - 20 foot range. Spiny Dogfish where visable at both sites and came in very close to check us out. Saw several LARGE lobsters at Halfway Rock and large school of Pollack on the Polling as well as a supersized Flounder. We did a very quick penetration of the Polling from the top deck to the first deck which was pretty cool. Interesting looking out rather than in. Max depth at Halfway was 82 feet and time was 36 minutes with a water temp at depth of 49. Max depth at the Polling was 97 feet, 36 minutes and also a water temp at depth of 49. Flat calm seas and 80 degrees made for an extremely pleasent boat ride.

I also found out that no matter how hard I try, I cannot keep up with my dive buddy while attached to a lobster pot line.:dork2:

NE diving at it's finest!:D

Sounds like a good dive. Was your trip extended much longer then usual, because of the bridge being closed?

Fran brought the boat around and we met him at the public docks in downtown Gloucester so there was no issue with the bridge. Otherwise, I guess it would have been 1 1/2 - 2 hour ride. As we were leaving Gloucester, I saw one of the Yankee Fleet boats making the trip inbound from the North on the river. Guess everyone with boats in at the marina is pretty unhappy with the whole affair. Costs a lot of time and additional money to make the round trip to the north like they have to until the bridge work is done.

A hour and half boat ride isn't that much. Specially on a day like yesterday was.
