Hi,

I have been diving with the Halcyon Eclipse wing for a few months and I was recently reading the instructions with regard to proper cleaning of the wing backplate as per Manufacture Instructions.

In the manual it has a Caution in Bold Lettering, It Reads:

CAUTION: Before rinsing , ensure that the power inflator is pressurised with air. This will prevent foreign particles and
contaminates from entering the valve mechanism in the event that the inflator button is accidently depressed.

What my question and concern is, is that how am I able to flush the Wing with it inflated with air. My usual procedure is to fill the bladder with water from the hose and rinse it out of the inflator or dump valve. This can not happen if there is an air inside. The water will displace the air. Also, I usually press both the inflator button and the dump button to rid the Wing of any excess salt corrosion or water remaining. I am not able to access the zipper at the back of the unit because the backplate and harness are bolted to the wing.

If I am missing something or misreading the directions please let me know.

Thank You

They're suggesting you have the LPI hose connected to the inflator (delivering air pressure) while flushing, not that the wing needs to be inflated. Personally, I just flush everything, including the LPI valve, with water. YMMV.
