I have found a halcyon setup used that my girlfriend is thinking of getting. I dive the medium DSS BP/W and it is GREAT!!!! She would need something similar in size to the BP I have, which is at this link http://www.deepseasupply.com/page7.html.

Does anyone have any useful advice on the size of the Halcyon BP? And yes I did a search and did not find what I was looking for.

Thanks in advance.....

It's a standard size. Unless your girlfriend is unusually short and petite, or unusually tall and large, it should work fine. I've never worried about backplate sizing, and most companies that make them only make one size. One size really does fit most people... I've had one of mine on a 5'4" woman of average build, and I'm 5'11" and overweight. It fit us both perfectly.

Since you say you use a "medium" and she needs the same, I'd be willing to bet the one-size-fits-all plate will do the trick.

Every "one size fits all" BackPlate I've ever encountered was between ~15 1/2" to 15 7/8 inches tall.

My guess is this is due in part to the fact gauge thickness metals, Stainless and Aluminum both, are commonly sold in 48" wide sheets If the plate is a little under 16" you can cut three from a sheet.

The Meduim DSS plate is 15" tall, the Large is 16"

Fit can also be affected by the bend in the plate. Flatter plates are often more comfortable fora wider range of people because they are less likely to dig into the lower back / hips on people on the shorter end of the fit range.

If you are taller than your girl friend you might want to consider swapping plates.

Haaa....thought about that swapping plates thing, but I like my DSS plate and there is no way I am giving that up. I got you weight plates Tobin, so I carry all my weight on my back and the more I get used to it the more I like it.

Thanks for the reply.
