Hi,
I just bought a Halcyon Infinity. The manual says to pressurize the power inflator before rinsing the wing from the inside. Now I am wondering if you are supposed to keep the BCD pressure hose connected while rinsing or if the pressure remains in the inflator also after disconnecting the hose?
Anyone knows what they mean here?
Thanks for help!

Keep the inflator connection on and pressurized in order to prevent grit, etc. from entering the power inflator assembly until internal rinsing is completed...

Never tried that before, I just press open the inflator n pour fresh water through it into the wing and it flushes the inflator as well.

Blow some air into the wing, swill it about n drain from the over pressure valve n allow to dry. It's work fine for 5 years for me.

My thoughts too.

How do you keep the hose on and pressurized in practice? most dive shops I have seen have some tubs where you can wash your stuff, but it is hard to imagine how to do it while still connected to a tank???

I don't know if it's right but I remove the OPV and add clean water to the wing. Give it a good shake and drain it out. Drain it from the hose and OPV area. Repeat a few more times for salt water then let the wing dry with the OPV out. When dry I put the OPV back on ( the right way) and add air (half full) to the wing. That's how I store it for a week or months.

Just make sure the wing holds air and the OPV is working right. This also lets you inspect the OPV spring for any issues as well. I'm not a service tech but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last light. :D

Stay away from rinse tubs, the salt from previous divers gear stays in the tub and now you're "rinsing" your gear in it, not to mention you never know what else is in that tub as many shops and dive ops aren't exactly religious about changing out the water.

Next topic: mask buckets, or here, come dunk your mask in someone else's snot. :vomit:

I don't think I ever read that part of the Halcyon manual. I switched the Halcyon inflater assembly out for a Zeagle Bx inflater when I first got my Eclipse. Being able to rinse the inside of the bladder and OPV valve by screwing a garden hose on the corrugated hose makes life a lot simpler. I then just rinse the power inflater with my regs.

There is generally always a hose on the premise. I am not saying I clean mine the right way all the time. Venting the water via the OPV valve is the preferred method...

I'd unscrew my Atomic SS1 inline octo from the corrugated hose, hook the garden hose to it and fill up the wing, pull the bottom dump valve to run water through it for a minute or so. Disconnect the garden hose and turn the BC upside down to drain out water. Screwed the SS1 back in, orally inflate the unit a bit then dunk the whole shebang into the cleaning container, rinse, blow up the wing some more and hang to dry.
