That’s what I thought…looks cool…you think it’s better than a weight belt?

YES.

Grajan:
When I need more weight I am going to use the Diverite TransWeight 16 pockets. They are much more compact and cost less.
I tried the TransWeight 16s (which is 8 lbs per side) on a rented TransPlate, they are very nice. They have a narrow width so they take up very little room on a harness. They have an inner pouch for the actual weights, that fits inside the outer pouch which threads through the harness. Still very spendy, I thought, at $119 for a pair. YMMV.

I stand corrected - they are exactly the same price - coincidence of of course.. :crafty: .... - still, I too prefer the Diverite profile.

I agree. I bought the ACB pockets with the 8 lb capacity - and that is pushing it. If you weight them to capacity you can't get the weight in when you are geared up and ready to get in the water (at least that is what I wanted them for - easier to put on gear etc.) They are now gathering dust. I bought the Deep Sea Supply back plate with the 8 lb heavy plates screwed on. Now I just need 10-12 lbs in an XS scuba weight belt. I too found that the pockets take up too much belt realestate if you want to put on a canister light, knife, scissors etc.

I dive with 8, so I got the ACB 12 (6 X 2). I know they make a 20 (10 X 2) and a 30 (15 X 2)... I need to get to that site more often!

I got 20lb and 30lb. They don't make 30lb anymore. You might get the used one though. 30lb is a really big. If you don't have a large waist, it will be too much.

And, there is two versons for the current set up. The one uses a sex bolt, the other uses a triglide to mount on the waist belt. The triglide one is a good for a canister light mounting.

I added a couple of XSScuba weight pockets http://www.sharpdiver.com/product_info.php/products_id/342?osCsid=7bdd6934a396cc5f73581b4377f1e97f ($9.95 each) to my harness and love the way they work. Lots cheaper than the ACB. While rated for 5lbs each I can easily fit a 6lb weight in them. I have also seen them mounted upside down for easy ditching. Just another option for you... and yes MUCH more comfortable than a weight belt, and a LOT easier to ditch on the surface if needed, plus you don't have to ditch any more than necessary.

They are small enough that I can still fit my can light on my side too...

No.... Simple Weight belt is good enough

I have the ACB 12 I think.

Used it a while. Didn't like it. Went back to weight belt.

It was like trying to fix a problem I didn't have. I only use around 6lbs on my weight belt. So, it's not a big problem putting on...

ACB took up to much of my belt. I like it clean...
