I would first order a CT, it will give lots of information without the hassle of preauthorization, for most insurances. Things to look for would be a slight bleed, abnormal size of the ventricles. Bleeds into the epidural space can take awhile to manifest. Any shift from a hematoma will be easily seen on CT.Thanks DD....more than likely, we will be headed to the ER or somewhere similar, later today...In the absence of knowing anything about this issue yet, I am thinking an MRI is the first test of interest.....but that is also what I have posted here for

Then, of course a neurology consult/workup. This sounds like post-traumatic brain injury but who knows what happens to a newly injured brain when its taken to depth? The other thing to consider is of course a TIA. I've never seen a TIA manifest as amnesia or blackout so that seems strange.

First thing, just get your butt to the neurologist for a CT and or MRI.
