I think it is more along the lines of stupid. Not you average kind, this is a special kind of stupid that is rarely seen.

For he to be receiving, someone must be donating at the same depth. That means there is equal chance of he needs to donate. But I think you are right, donating is never the plan. I don't believe receiving is either.
