Just finished up two days of diving at Guppy Gulch assisting with an OW checkout. Diving in 7-mil wetsuits made for some quick dives this weekend. Here's the report.

Saturday 4/11/09
Rain/Overcast 58 F
Water Temp: 50 F at surface. 42 F thermocline around 45ft.
15ft visibility

Sunday 4/12/09
Sunny & Clear Skies 50 F - Windy
Water Temp: 46 F at 35ft.
25-30ft visibility.

Sounds about right for this time of year : )

I'm interested in going but at present if it is basically Millbrookish.

I'd say that all quarries within 1.5 hous of Baltimore are basically the same.
In order of overall value as a destination:
1. Guppy Gulch - $15 a day... decent vis... cold with typical quarry thermoclines
2. Millbrook - $18 a day... decent vis... cold with typical quarry thermoclines
3. Bainbridge - $30 a day... best local vis... good for deep...high price tag...
4. Whiteford - Unfortunately not available unless you know someone
5. Hydes - $20 a day.. horrendously bad vis... no attractions or facilities... kind of a waste of $20

Go a little farther...
6. Dutch Springs...worth the extra travel time
7. Willow Springs... vis has gone down hill... no longer a favorite
8. Lake Rawlings... a weekend journey of 4 hours.... but worth doing on occassion
