Nothing dissolves and leaves a black stain on your tongue quite the same as Takaab!

Indeed!

I carry a travel size bottle of scope in my bc pocket take a swig, swish it around and spit it out then i drop a little on my mouth piece. don't really have all the much of dry mouth if none at all.

My second stage(Sherwood) has these metal fins inside that collect the moisture from the exhale. It adds a little moisture to the incoming air, but not enough to prevent dry mouth. However, by the tim my mouth starts feeling dry, there is enough moisture collected on the fins so that a quick hard inhale will pull the moisture off the fins and re moisten my mouth and throat.

I'm not sure I'd want something floating around in my mouth, but I sometimes chew a jolly rancher, etc., right before I descend. The candy will get stuck in your teeth, which is enough to help you swallow and equalize on the way down.

I do remember having dry mouth when I rented a reg for my checkout dives, but haven't had it since (diving an apeks atx 200).

Be sure to rinse out your reg very well. I know a guy here in the Philippines who dives with a piece of candy in his mouth. Next weekend his second stage was full of ants. Yuck.

I agree with the above. Its very easy to choke on it or it goes down the wrong pipe. Next time just take a small sip of salt water. But be sure no one is in front of you. haha

funny that you brought up metal second stages breathing wetter . I've got an old pacer XLE that breathes superbly wet ( i think theres a pinhole leak in the diaphram lol)
I know im probably going to get reprimanded for the 2nd stages lack of service , but it really is a refreshing reg to use , and i havent been able to bring myself to put a parts kit in it :)

That's the way to do it. There's no need to dive without all the comfort one has gotten used to :) Seriously I wouldn't even consider diving with anything but reg in my mouth.

Man am I newbie. Tried to quote the 5 course meal post but somehow messed it up... well you got the picture anyway.
