I am spending my christmas locating every fresh water dive site in texas. I am currently at 11. I plan on diving every one of them starting in January.
But can anyone out there identify for me any Texas coastal shore dive sites they can recommend?

Try www.gulf-diving.com It will take you to the crews of the MS Spree, and MV Fling...both are dive boats that go on trips to the Flower Gardens....National Marine Sanctuary....they are located in Freeport, TX. an absolutely fantastic dive trip...extremely well run and offers EAN 32%... a great adventure to add to your Texas dive sites....also try Clear SpringsScuba Park, in Terrell Tx, new, with in the last 4 years, and on google...... it is out of the ordanary for lake diving, and is a facility that suits all forms of dive training, great VIS...

The only coastal sites I can think of (marginally worth diving) are:
1. Offat's Bayou (Galveston)
2. Port Aransas Jetties
3. South Padre Jetties (better than Port A)
4. Port Mansfield Jetties (most pristine, IF you can get out there)
5. Inshore boat dive sites in South Padre (contact American Diving)

Except for Offat's Bayou, these are all summertime dives. Even down in South Padre the weather is often rough and the water cold. Vis sucks most of the time in the winter.

I dove in the Laguna Madre once. I don't recommend it.
