Naku mg ading ko, I’m getting a kick out of reading your comments. If ever you come to Palawan I’ll treat you guys out for dinner :D

But seriously- cute, sweet and pretty are words that would be more appropriate for my grandniece. I’m already a grandma (well- grandaunt) but you ihos and ihas aren’t allowed to call me lola, K? It’s “Tita” or “ate” to PPDs under 37.

Caloy, I didn’t put any data in my profile because I didn’t want replies to my queries to be influenced by people’s perceptions of me or my diving experience (or dive equipment- why do we need to write that ba?). This way I can ask as many stupid questions as I want, diba? But yeah, I guess not knowing who you’re talking to can get kinda creepy after a while - so I just might add to my profile one of these days.

Jag- Didn’t I mention I was more comfortable behind the camera? Ikaw talaga! Sorry nabisto kita kay Caloy. He seems so brokeback-phobic pa naman.

Anyway, off-topic na tayo. This post was all about Jag, remember?
hay naku... numerical age is not counted here...

look, pao is "lolo" despite being relatively young... caloy is "koya" despite the fact na amoy lupa na sya... jon is "tito" and hangs around the kiddies even if he's somewhere between me and pao in age...

carlo naman is young but has a lot of grown-up responsibility running the barangay... chip is even younger and... well... nah, chip is isip bata hahahahaha

amoy lupa ha?! amoy dagat lang!!!! (heyuf)

Oh don’t worry fellas. I actually enjoy growing older and being a lola. As you age life seems a lot less complicated and more relaxed. Plus in general, people treat you better and it’s easier to get the things you want- right tito Caloy?

Fortunately, age aint a big issue underwater either. I stopped worrying about growing old the day I buddied up with this guy. He’s a 70+ yr old Japanese diver for whom life began at 60- when he learned to dive. Less than a year before this picture he underwent bilateral hip replacement surgery and was hospitalized for several months. He could hardly walk and his doctor warned that he’d get into serious trouble if he continued to dive- pero sige pa rin siya (tigas talaga ng ulo ng mga diver regardless of age). The hardest thing for him was getting in and out of the boat but once he was in the water he felt better and more mobile than he did on land. He also had lung problems but this didn’t stop him from lighting up after every dive. Here are some pics of him with matching loose and “gutya-gutay” wetsuit. Light blue pa.

Now I wonder how the DIR lolos do it (dive ha). Are they even allowed?
