OK folks, a professional photographer I will never be.

So here are some clues to make it easier:

1) I was freediving, so it's not deep. Sits in about 20' of water.

2) It was a sunny day and I was using a disposable camera, so I wasn't able to get much in the frame at a time. The actual wreck is maybe 65 - 75' long.

3) It's in Kingston, Ontario (oh yeah, that oughta really narrow it down :D )

4) Seems to be a popular site for new Open Water divers taking their checkout dives.

Sorry folks, this photo is probably the most distinctive part of the wreck. There's not much left. No masts or anything that I could see, anyway. (oops was that another hint?)

LOL - maybe you should get rid of the post asking 'what fish is this', too. You describe where, and what wreck you were diving on.

Paula :)

It's either the Princess Charlotte orginally thought to be the Prince Regent, but a survey discovered that the Prince Regent was longer.(Dead mans bay 1) Built 1814 in Chatam England Launched Kingston Apr 15 1814 at 5:30 pm- Frigate, 52 guns, 769 tons, 280 men, mainly 24 pounders and 32 pounder carronades

or the PSYCHE Launched Kingston 1814 - Frigate, 52 guns, 769 tons, 280 men, mainly 24 pounders and 32 pounder carronades, this one actually was rearmed in 1831 during a dispute over commercial fishing

Man this Tom R guy really knows his stuff!!!

Hey freefloat excellent photo considering it was a disposible and you were free diving.
What do you wear for free diving...I suppose it is jsut a suit ...don't you freeze?

Tom R:

Yep, you got it!

It's the wreck just outside the breakwater in Deadmans Bay. I've been told that the one furthest in (the Psyche?) is little more than a keel and ribs, and anyway the weeds are now taller than I am (oh joy).

I was thinking it was the Regent, based on what information I could glean off the wreck. Thanks so much for the in depth info. You really do know your stuff!

knives:

Freediving I'm in a 2mil shorty and that day I only had on 2lb of weight (thanks to Davy losing my second 2lb weight in between drills - he owes me now).

I've been in reasonably cold water in this suit - I think the coldest was in May, it was 43°F at the surface. (Didn't stay wet longer than 15 minutes, and didn't dive.) From all the warnings/complaints I've heard about Toby and its thermoclines, I think I'll stay in Kingston-Brockville areas......
