Grenada January Trip

I saw this posting and just had to add my two-cents worth!

My wife (Laura) and I were in Grenada last January and I dove with Aquanauts. Laura does not dive and we had already booked a hotel closer to town. In hind-sight, what a pity that was! I was very impressed with the True Blue Bay Resort and if I had it to do over again I would stay there in a heart-beat!

As for the diving, I can't begin to describe what a pleasure it was to dive with them! I took the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Techniques course while there. Instructor Paul Ward was very knowledgeable and personable. For the final dive of the course we planned and conducted a staged decompression dive on the Bianca C to 145 ft! What a blast that was! Peter accompanied the group with Paul on this dive and the both of them used Inspiration Rebreathers. (BTW, they will happily train you to use those as well!). They are, quite honestly, one of the finest dive opperations that I have used anywhere!

As a bonus, Grenada is just a really spectacular island with a lot of other wonderful sights to see and things to do. It is high on my list of places to return to!

PS. Carribean Air is starting direct JFK to Grenada flights on Wed and Sat. Will make the trip easy.

The new flights will sure be convenient. Going through JFK has got to be better than Miami.

Just wondering....Is the fligtht out of NYC direct or are you flying through a Caribbean hub?

Direct. 4.5 hours JFK to Grenada. Leaves at 13.55 gets in at 19.25. The return leaves at 08.05 gets into JFK at 12.00.
