Biridiver
New
Hello all! I've been a recreational diver off and on for many years. I'm from Edmonds, Washington just outside Seattle and went through my first PADI training course there in the chilly waters of Puget Sound. However, I used to vacation a lot in the Caribbean and that's where I did most of my diving until about 10 years ago when I moved to the Philippines.
My wife is from a tiny island called Biri which has fabulous coral formations. Unfortunately there are no diving facilities there. A couple of years we bought property there and I finally took my first dive there last year. There were no dive sites mapped out so a buddy and I put in right in front of my house. It turned out to be a fabulous dive. I was only able to get in 2 dives while I was there as I didn't have my own equipment. So, this summer, while back in Washington, I've managed to accumulate 3 sets of gear and am excited to begin exploring the area in earnest. I have my advanced open diver certification but will need to learn more as I explore the area.
I'm considering opening a dive shop on the island but I'll know more after my next trip over. I currently spend 6 months of the year in the Seattle area and 6 months in the Philippines. Anyway, that's enough for now. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.
