I am glad to hear your almost retired, it is a long road but worth it as long as you have plans once you get out. Where are you stationed at?

Actually, retirement will be from the Reserves (Navy), I only did 8 years active (where they saw fit to PCS me all around the Wash DC beltway), so I'm already a well-established civilian.

Keep us posted about life in the wilds, esp if you dare set flipper into that cooooold water/ (And you can think of us stifling and sweating here in the city's usual summer of 90% humidity, 98 degree heat.
