My husband and I are considering traveling to New Zealand (North) next December-January. While it is -67 here in Alaska, we will be in summer in New Zealand. We are both Padi certified. We prefer to shore dive (walk-in). We travel with our own gear--all gear is considered one checked bag on Alaska Airlines! Nice!! Can anyone share locations where safe shore access can be found?

For those that have been to Hawaii (big Island) we really enjoyed "Two Step" and beach access that had a buffer zone (no waves crashing into large sharp rocks....tossing you into those large sharp rocks).

Any suggestions?

Hi Lisa and welcome to ScubaBoard. Two step is one of my favorite dives.
