LED OR HID Heads...opinions

I have a Tristar Plus (LED) that I use cave diving and I love it.

I am hard on equipment and choose accordingly. I have used my greenforce tristar for 5 years now with nothing more than a cable problem during that time.

I have the Arrow12 with the HID 10w head. Used so far for ~4 years and ~130 dives and would not change it except to upgrade to a brighter one ! I simply love its simplicity, its reliability and robustness. My wish... Can I get it wireless ??? I also hae the basic tungsten head which actually I barely used... With the HID I can make 2-3 dives on one charge
I would like to try the Tri-star head but not sure it is much improvement vs my HID head. I'm actually trying to build my own LED lights but won't finish until I'm back in Belgium where all my parts are waiting for me

You moding a GF head or starting from scratch?
I madified a couple of GF's awhile back.
