Hello,

I recently purchased a new Light Monkey 32W VF LED head. I've found the variable focus knob is extremely difficult to turn. To the point where I needed to use a set of pliers on it the first time I tried to turn the knob. I'm not the strongest person alive, but I'm 6'3 270lbs and used to dive double steel 120s so I'm not the weakest person either.

I'm just curious of other people's experiences with the VF knob action. I'll reach out to Light Monkey as well but wanted to know if this is a common issue.

Thanks!
Mike

I found the knob to be slightly hard to turn but not to the extent of needing pliers.

I myself have been having an issue with my 32VF as well. Brand new but the LED is showing that it's beginning to burn out after the first dive. I did not have it lit up outside of the water.
Reached out to Light Monkey a little over a week ago but no word back yet.

It looks to me that led is soldered on wrong PCB . This led is made out of cluster with 4 XML led diodes . You have choice to run with 6V with combination 2P2S or 12V as 4S ( P=paralell , S= series ) . This depends on design of PCB which is soldered . You have that 6V version and you drive with 12 V or more (14,8V max ) . One half had burned.
