Part of the reason is that the government has been late to the party on trans fats and they realize it. They are probably feeling guilty for pushing hydrogenated oil on us in the form of margerine for 15 years.

Just curious as to why this would involve the government? If i want to eat double the average amount of trans fats, and pay a restaraunt to fix it up for me, why should the government be involved?
