I had a similar experience on the Crystal in Lake Erie. Normally 120 feet in Erie is hovering around 44 degrees, I never had a temp drop from the surface to 120...72 degrees the whole way. Of course we couldn't see a damn thing when we got there.
 
60° in Lake Superior?!?!!
Ya gotta be kidding, unless all that global warming stuff is way worse than what they've been letting on!!!
It was always "Unisuit time" in Lake Superior, no matter what month it was.

Yup, no joke. The remnants of a hurricane blew through the Great Lakes and we think it turned the water. Any other time I've been in Superior it was 60 on the surface and 40-42 at depth. So I think it was definitely a one-off.
