The Great Escape lowered their prices for the July & August. I was going to go out on the Magician Friday, July 24, but GE has a trip "open boat" this Saturday July 18th. I am going to sign up for this one as I have heard quite a few good things about the Great Escape.
It will be my first time aboard the GE. Has anyone ever gone out on the GE?

GE is one of my favorite boats, very roomy, nice bunks, good food, large galley, large camera rinse tanks & great crew. It can be a little slow, but at least it's comfortable. You'll enjoy it.

I went out on the GE about 3 years ago. It was a great trip to San Clemente.

we have been out on GE several times. Love everything about it - the crew, the roomy boat, the capt, the food...:D It is a fun boat, too.

robint I love your videos. Very good + the music is nice. I will be going solo on this trip, so hopefully I can find a buddy. The web page does not say what time they go out. Would you believe that right behind where the GE is docked is my favorite restaurant. Berth 55 seafood, been going there every month since 1983. Thanks all for the tips.........

the website has the departure times listed at the very bottom of the page here:

you can always sleep on the boat overnight, too. The earlier you get there and put your tank in a slot and sign in, the better. ;) I wouldn't wait until the "boarding" time as things get crowded at the pier and on the boat, plus the boat leaves right on time. Its best to be onboard the night before or early in the am so you can set up gear and make sure you have everything before it leaves the dock.

Well I signed up for this Saturday on the GE. The weather looks like it will be perfect. Talked to Joy and she was very nice, told me I could even sleep overnight.:sleeping2: but I'll go in the morning, and yeah I will go hungry.:eat: We are doing a day trip to Catalina, $115. I'm pretty excited, want to try out my new light & computer.
