Fantastic!! I was paddleboarding in the area a few weeks ago, I thought briefly about sharks...next time I will be pondering whales.

Nice post.

Once, on an early Sunday morning in LaJolla Cove, had the great opportunity to drop in, off a small Zodiac,into a pod of Gray Whales that were migrating south to Mexico. A few feet away from these massive mammals with Soccer ball sized eyes gazing at us small humans.

The pod moved gently away with a a few sweeps of their massive tails.

Just fortunate, never had it happen again.
