I helped recover a small outboard motor there once. This guy my brother-in-law knows lives on the lake and he was trying to install a small clamp on style Evinrude tiller motor on an older wooden boat and it turns out that the transom was rotten and gave way when he set the motor on. He knew pretty much exactly where it was since it was right off the end of his pier in about 15ft of water, and I can tell you that Grapevine is not a good diving lake. Visability was zero and the water was very stained. That is the only time I have ever been to Lake Grapevine but I have been told by several people that live in that area that it is not a diving lake. There are a few good spots to dive within an hour or two driving distance of there though.
