Grand Princess Cruise Feb. 18th

My wife and I are doing this cruise leaving Galveston Feb 4. If anyone else will be on this cruise and wants to dive, let us know!

The people who have posted here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=252205 will be on your sailing with you. Maybe some of them will also be divers.

I've done lots of dives while on cruises. My recommendation is to book through the ship. It may be a bit more expensive, but you don't need to worry about the ship arriving too late to go on the dive or leaving without you. Also, in Belize, a dive booked through the ship will pick you up at the ship whereas a dive booked elsewhere will require you to tender to shore first.

BTW: The GP is a great ship (except that the midship stairway does not go all the way up).

Also: There are a number of threads on cruising and diving with some great tips (like dive knives may be confiscated by security). Also, beverage cups in the buffet are too small -- bring your own plastic cup or plan on lots of refils of their 4 oz cups!

What he said. You don't want to have to worry about the ship leaving without you if your excursion runs late. I've been on ships where people have had to catch up with the ship at the next port. Not fun, or cheap.

We're sailing on the GP the week of February 4-11. We've been on her before (inaugural year), and are looking forward to seeing how she's aged. I hope you have a balcony!!
