I have been to all three numerous times. Just spend a month down there and dive all three!!! Yes, I know, the job and all. Little Cayman has the best wall diving in the Caribbean. We have stayed at Pirates Point Resort several times and had a great time. If you stay at Paradise Villas, eat some dinners at Pirates Point Resort and say "Hi" to Ed and Gay Morse for me!!

We just booked a week at Brac Reef and are paying $1300 each for 17 dives and 3 meals a day. We found that to be very competitive.

Just got back from 2nd trip to Grand Cayman and want to return. Been to Brac once.
The personel you deal with will matter. At Cayman Brac, I encountered dive masters
who seemed disinterested. Maybe they thought our group would not tip well.
At Grand Cayman, Compass Point, east side, the staff was excellent. We had 8 of 12 taking
pictures. They adjusted the groups according to experience in diving and second interest such as photography or cave/grotto diving. Very well done.
Cayman Brac, russian wreck, is a good dive. All meals were at the resort.
Never been to Little Cayman.

I have never encountered any problems with the dive ops on the Brac. On GC, yes, but never on the Brac. Maybe you just caught someone on a bad day. I find everyone there very friendly and outgoing. Both my younger kids will be certified on the Brac within the year. The Brac offers great diving, great food and great people.

The Reef Divers staff on the Brac (and on Little Cayman) run a regimented operation. When they say that the boat departs at 8:15 (not when you happen to wander in), or that they want you back at the boat in 50 minutes (not when you are out of gas), that is what they mean. This is sometimes a problem for self-centered divers, who probably would be better served at another dive operation. Considering the fact that the boats have to be back at the resort in time for the short one-hour lunch period, and that they have to deal with many divers who possess the barest of competence, I think that the boat staff does a heck of a good job.

Little Cayman and Cayman Brac have the best diving. Little Cayman Beach Resort and Brac Reef Resort describe your perfect dive vacation. I just returned from Brac Reef, and can tell you that the dive staff are friendly and experienced and offer valet diving, the food is delicious, the rooms are beautifully decorated, plus the natural beauty of this place is amazing. I made a last minute trip and was able to get great rates that included everything. I really enjoyed having everything on site...no decisions about where to eat. The open air bar is a great post-dive gathering place. My husband and I traveled there together and it didn't take long to meet new friends. We quickly went from a quiet table for two to a huge loud table of happy divers.

I wish you a wonderful trip!

Thank you for your post. That describes the operation I do not want to use.

I have never had a problem with bottom time limitations at either BracReef or LCBR. My experience has been that if they say 50 minutes, and you are the first one in and last one out after a 65 minute dive, they won't give you any grief at all. Now if you wait until the dive briefing is over to start suiting up and are the last into the water by several minutes, and then get back on the boat 10 minutes after everybody else is already onboard and ready to go, the DM might take you aside and have a little talk. I will have to go back and look at my logs, but I can't think of any dive in the last 4 vacations that was less than 60 minutes that wasn't gas limited, not DM limited.

I have never seen the "dive nazi" attitude by the DM's at either resort as described by a few folks, and have to wonder if it isn't a case of divers who have a natural chip on their shoulder and a bit of a problem with authority.

Neither have I. I've been to the Brac resort once and the LCBR twice and never had a problem with dive times. Like you said, if you want 60 minutes on that first dive, just be the first in and last out. No big deal really. People just need to understand it's not Bonaire where you can do your own thing whenever. They do have a schedule to keep and so they try and keep as close as possible to that schedule but we never had the boat leave anyone because they were a few minutes late and dive times have never been an issue. It wasn't very hard to get 60 minutes out of both dives if you want to.
The staff is exceptional!
