Looking for a op in G.C for a upcoming cruise. The ship doesn't get in until 10am so looks like I would have to find a 2 tank afternoon dive. Seeing as there is a ton of different ops on the island would like to hear your thoughts.
Thanks

It may be a shorter list than you think. A lot of operators only do two tanks in the morning followed by one in the afternoon. Or they go to Stingray City in the afternoon.

Three I can think of that do 2 tanks in the afternoon:

Wall to Wall Diving - Personally Guided Diving at its Best in Grand Cayman
Neptune's Divers, Cayman's Original 8 Divers Max
Divers Down The best scuba diving in Grand Cayman, 8 divers max, Stingray City and instruction.

Wall to Wall books thru the Lobster Pot Dive Center in Georgetown. So assuming they pick up there - IDK - that might be convenient. caymancase here is Casey from Neptune's.

Have you used any of those before?

No but this might be a factor in your decision - from Diver's Down website:
Visitors to Grand Cayman arriving via a cruise ship can plan and pre-book their diving through Cruise Diver; our exclusive cruise program has been designed to work with the ship’s limited time schedule and our George Town location is only 4 minutes walk from the cruise ship terminal!

Neptune's would require a cab ride to their location afaik - they're somewhere along North SMB.

I recommend the Lobster Pot group (Wall to Wall, Off the Wall. Deep Blue, etc.). They tend to have boats going out at 11:30 AM. I have used them all and they all offer good professional service.

I sent a message to Lobster Pot from their website nearly a month ago and have not heard back. I'm considering trying to deal with one of their affiliates directly. Which one would you recommend? Our ship is scheduled to anchor at 7 AM Cayman time. My buddy and I are both experienced AOW divers who enjoy wall diving. We've already been to Stingray City and don't especially want to go again.

I recommend you go through your cruise line and here's why. The Dive shop they use will be obligated to get you back to the dock on time so that you don't miss the last shuttle back to the ship. I think that is a big plus seeing how you don't want to be stranded there watching your ship sail away. I was on a Celebrity Cruise and they used Red Sail, nice outfit and very knowledgeable about the dive sites

I have been on many cruise ship dive excursions and now avoid them whenever logistics allow. In my experience, they tend to be overpriced, cattleboats, and often attract divers who are a danger to themselves and others.

I've used Diver's Down (Cruise Diver dive and snorkel trip for cruise ship passengers in Cayman Islands.) a couple of times. Never more than 10 on a boat (and 4 of them were snorkelers, it was a family). First dive is generally a guided deep dive, 100 ft max depth. Second dive is around 40-50ft, unguided dive. Professional. I liked them. I also like the fact their second dive is unguided. Gives me a chance to work on my navigation and look for critters on my own.

CJ's (Giles) owns Wall to Wall. He was last on SB yesterday.
