Trying to figure out the Sept dive vacation. Have been to GC several times and love it! Wondering if we should do something different and stay on the Brac. But worried we might get bored on the smaller island when we're not diving. From what I understand, there's not much to do but dive. We're not 'lay in a hammock all afternoon' types. Is the diving that much better on Brac? Is there much shore diving? It would be OK if, after our morning boat dives, we could go shore diving on our own but haven't heard much about shore diving on the Brac. When we go to GC, we pretty much stay off the boats and dive on our own, which is great!

Brac Reef Beach Resort has a special for $888 pp for 7 days, 5 days of 2 tank dives. But we could stay at the Westin on GC for half that price and go shore diving. Anyone have any thoughts about this?

Thanks!!!!

Boy, the Westin is a lot cheaper than I thought. Don't forget that the Brac Reef deal includes all of your meals when you make that comparison.

Yes, the Brac is laid back, not a lot to do especially if you don't have a car. If you have never been there, you should do it. It is a wonderful island full of nice and friendly people with spectacular diving.

My preference would be Little Cayman, but there is really nothing to do after diving except wonderful relaxation. I think it has the best diving of all threee. BRBR will take you over to Little Cayman probably twice in the week, possibly at a small additional charge.

Check Little Cayman Beach Resort and I bet they have the same deal.

Yah, good deal on the Westin - won't last though...

Thanks for the info!

I would check the weather forecast today, as TS Ernesto is strengthening and predicted to go straight thru that area! Take care, Maggi :(

I just got back Sunday from 6 days diving (17 dives) in Little Cayman. If you do not need a night life, other than with 30-40 other divers, I would highly recommend it. I went with folks who have been to GC and CB a lot, one worked as a dive master on GC, and both said they would never go back if they can make it to Little Cayman. I know I am still on sensory overload. LCBR will take care of you for sure, and Reef Divers was outstanding to dive with. We even got them to take us over to the brac for a dive on the Tibbetts. If you need something to do other than 3 dives a day (and don't count on night dives...) it may not be the place for you as there is really nothing else to do here.

Hey, merxlin, did you forget about Fri. night Kareoke? That was a blast. My son and I were the ones who sang the "Banana Boat Song"...."come de light and I don't wanna go home"!

some of us hide in our rooms with earplugs Friday night...

I wondered if any rooms facing Beach Nuts had people trying to sleep. Then I went back to my rum and coke:eyebrow:
