We're headed to Grand Cayman in July. Has anyone stayed at the Marriott on seven mile beach? If so, how did you like it and would you stay there again? Any info appreciated!

Thanks!

Yes. Nice property except that the beach has been eroded away almost up to the swimming pool. Have to walk north toward the Westin to spread out in the sand. Restaurant service can be slow.

Best regards.

The beach is in a bit better shape now, but it has been eroded by the Marriott in the past.

The Marriott is a nice property on the southern end of 7MB. Erosion of this end of the beach has been an ongoing problem. The Cayman government has plans for beach restoration, but in the meantime the Marriott has had some artificial reef balls installed which seem to be helping by trapping more of the sand that migrates down the beach during a Nor'wester.

Spent a week there early last year on free Marriott points. I would judge it a middle level Marriott, not one of their top properties but not a bad one either. Unless it was deeply discounted I would probably stay elsewhere if I had to pay. Not that there is anything wrong, just some nicer properties for the same $$$. Beach isn't very good but then again the beach at that end of 7MB is poor given the erosion. Beach starts to open up as you pass the Marriott as some of the hotels are set further back from the water.

Location is great and central to alot of things you can walk too. Much depends on what you like. Been on 7MB last 3 times, would probably head to the East End if go again or Cayman Brac/Little Cayman.

Gran Cayman is commercial. Dive the East End and avoid Red Sail Divers. Great restaurants very expensive. Next time try Brac or Little Cayman....... Jack Caymaniac
