Howdy,

Been looking at some of the previous posts. Staying right off of 7 mile beach. Diving with my wife (recently AOW), my 11 year old son (JOW with about 20 dives), and the good lookin one (me - finishing up rescue)...

Interested in shallow wrecks and lots of life. Have 8 people in the group (4 divers and the rest snorkelers). Any suggestions for operators and, just as important, sites to dive?

Thanks!
jim

Howdy Jim

We've been going there for a very long time and have always used Jason with Ambassador Divers. Ambassador Divers Ltd., Grand Cayman Exceptional scuba diving in the Cayman Islands
In the summer months he runs the boat out of the Yacht Club. It's on the north side of the island, so all the sites are good.
Almost all the dives are done on the top of the wall. We see lots of Eagle Rays up there as well as the odd Hammerhead.

Have FUN!

I just spoke with peter and he only takes 6 people out but you sure can check with him. He really seems to be a good DM.

We would highly recommend Divetech. They would have awesome adventures for your group. They have over 16 instructors that are just wonderful especially with kids 10 & up. Their boats have easy on & off swim platform, freshwater showers, towels, fruit, half shade, oxygen and all the safety equipment. The dive profiles are 100% computer for 2 - one hour dives for max. bottom time with free computer rental. They also have underwater scooters that are a blast and easy operate.

Grand Cayman has few wrecks, but a couple of those are in less than 40ft. The most easily accessible is the wreck of the Cali which can be accessed from shore.

HI JIM we are going in June, taking my Son and Daughter in Law Diving with Peter Melborn. Sounds llike the 4 of us will have the boat all to oourselves. Which is perfect for us. Have you made a decision yet? Kathy in Texas

We Stayed on Seven Mile at the Marriott and the operators for some excellent dives is Jason & Larry at Ambassador Divers, I was diving with a Family ( two young daughters just starting out) and we did the Doc Poulsons which is an excellent shallow wreck. Jason will pick you up where you are staying and take you to his boat. he can be reached at this number
