On a recent trip to Playa del Carmen , I was diving with a friend in a fair current. He stopped to see something and I dropped down and grab a rock to keep from separating us to much. After the dive I have 2 figer pad that are slightly selled but not uncomfortable. Its been 10 days since and can still feel a slight tingling when I grab something. They are still slightly swelled. But functinable.

Any ideas

Brent

Hi Brent,

The effects of nematocyst envenomations can last for extended periods; sometimes well longer than 10 days.

Given that the only complaints are continuing slight swelling and tingling of two finger pads, there seems little reason for alarm, nor much that can be recommended medically, although "Benadryl Itch Stopping Cream, Extra Strength" or a similar preparation might provide some relief.

Of course if the condition gets significantly worse, contact with a physician, preferably a dermatologist, would be prudent.

Helpful?

Very much so.

Just thought it was lasting a longer than it should have. Now I know, its normal.

Thanks
