Hey Florida Gang,

We are headed down to Key Largo end of this week for a vacation from Northern Palm beach and we are also renting a boat. A few of us will be diving and some will be snorkeling.

I wonder if anyone would share 1 or 2 GPS coordinates of some good locations to do both on. We will be just south of Pennecamp. Im guessing Dry rocks with the christ statue?? Is it pretty easy to find a bouy? Not sure how this works and not trying to be in a shops way. Just looking for a way to utilize our boat and have fun.

Any advice or insight would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Stop in the dive shop at John Pennekamp or just about any other dive shop in the keys. They have very detailed maps for about $3.00. Has all the coordinates and depths. There are plenty of buoys on all the sites. Just be careful to approach each site from the deep end.

Do yourself a favor and pick up a upper keys Top Spots fish and dive chart. its got all the dive locations with GPS numbers and also the depths in the channels to help keep you from running aground. The keys are not like Palm beach, its shallow and when you hit something down here you are going to break some s**t.........lol

thanks! good advice from you two. much appreciated. I will grab those maps when we drive down.

:D

Some of the visitors centers and shops have Tealls maps, usually free (adverts on the sides) but alot of info. Agree w/ Capt Scotty, make sure you have a good depth sounder as stuff can be shallow.
