Max depth in the trench is about 25 feet or so but most of the quarry is 18 feet deep. We were there the first weekend in May and the water was already 65 degrees in most of the quarry. The thermocline is in the trench and that gets nippy, 50ish when we were there.

Cool, thanks Ber. I was hoping my 3/2 suit would be good enough. Now I just have to round up a dive buddy.

I'd be there if I wasn't leaving town to see the inlaws this weekend. If you're going in a 3/2 stay above the thermocline!

I will be diving 6/17-18 and 6/24 at Blue Springs for AOW and PPB respectively. I'm still not sure how my instructor is going to find 60 ffw at BS for the minimum requirement for the deep dive. Maybe we'll all stick our computers down into the mud at the large boat. I head that maxes out at 55-58 feet or so. Maybe she'll pray for rain?

JIm,
Your instructor is cheating you if you are doing your AOW at BS. You will be lucky if you can find anything deeper than 55.
Most of them "add" 10 feet because of the cold water in their planning to skirt the requirement.

Thanks Polly. I started another thread on this specific topic in the Basic Scuba forum. I'd be interested in your comments.

Hey skyking, I figure no longer than I'll be in the deep part, my 3/2 should work ok. I don't get cold very easy. What kind of mask are you wearing in your avatar? I just traded in my cracked Oceanic Neo in for a Mako. Looks similar. Plans got canceled for July 4 weekend at Brookville, but, I'll be diving somewhere. Definately going to do Bonne Terre before too long. Hey Jim, up for wreck diving in Erie in late July or early August?

Possibly. It all depends upon the details. The devils in the details! My schedule gets pretty busy beginning late July and running through end of Oct. My daughter is one of the key players on her HS varsity soccer team and I absolutely don't miss any of her games. Let me know your thoughts and I'll see if I can work something out.

We'll be down at Protage Saturday and Sunday - well, actually, the club will be!
I'll be with my G/F Saturday (for her birthday - what can I say??) - but I'll be down Sunday!

Can you give me a little more info on this one please? (Not the birthday, but the diving part). My wife just told me I need a little stress relief and to take off for the weekend and dive my brains out. Kinda' opens up a whole lot more possibilities. WOO HOO.
