Thanks to a lot of you here on scubaboard!! I've been looking at gear all week, read and hijacked a few threads, and I think I decided on my final setup. This is my first kit and I want it to grow and adapt with me as I gain experience and progress. With the gear mentioned below, does anyone forsee any complications and anything else I would need to start off?

Dive rite basic harness w/ 2" crotch strap
Dive rite stainless steel backplate
2 dive rite steel cam bands
Oxycheq mach 5 extreme 40lb wing

I'm planning on ordering this setup by the end of the day, any suggestions or recomendations would be greatly appreciated!! Can't wait to start looking at regs in 2 more weeks!!

Congrats on buying your new setup. Diving is one of the greatest joy in life.

Your first gear set is doubles? I foresee it taking some time to get used to those, and you'll still probably want a jacket BCD for those dives where you don't need doubles, they're an awful lot of extra weight. I would recommend a jacket first, I'd also recommend a sturdy cheap reg you can bang around for your first one(also becomes a good spare), before you get a top of the line balanced reg that costs half your paycheck.

Looks fine to me. I questioned the SS BP but then i noticed you are in colorado so diving cold water. I assume you are not diving doubles but if you are then get some coaching, I did not think of things like what do you do if you fall on your face with doubles on, can you roll them off you, in mud? how would you breath. small consideration but better to think of the wild odd possibility before murphy finds you.

I dive almost that exact set up except I only use a 30lb mach 5 and absolutely love it.
I recommend getting a pair of sex bolts to bolt your wing to the plate.

the Mach 5 is a single tank wing

Well I'm at the point of no return (well, I guess unless I actually return it, which I don't plan on doing) - I just got off the phone with Ed from CaveAdventurers.com and ordered the rig I mentioned above, plus the added sex bolts. He was extremely helpful and very nice over the phone - assuming the package arrives neatly, I would be glad to do business with him again!! Ed, if you happen to see this post, THANK YOU!!! Now the worst part begins... waiting for it to arrive! Ahh, can't wait!!! Here's to hoping this enables me to get more time underwater!

Edit: And for the record, the entire setup came to $460, which included:
Dive Rite basic harness w/ 2" crotch strap
Dive Rite SS backplate
2 steel cam bands
sex bolts
Oxycheq Mach 5 Extreme - 40 lb wing
