Hi, Has anyone been diving here??? My husband has wanted to dive gorda banks for yrs. Any recommended shops?? We will be out near cabo pulmo for 5-6 wks. Thanks for any help, Greta

We run regular trips to Gordo Banks.... It is one of my favorite dive sites but it can also be a lot of time in blue water with very little to see!!! On most of our recent dives out there we have had Hammerheads around and large schools of fish like Bonito. The visibility out there at the moment has been around 60-90ft but quite often it closes in on you around the pinnacle.

The boat ride is about 20-30 minutes and we are usually diving around 100-140ft depending on the clients. We only run small groups out there to maximize the safety and enjoyment of all clients

Just dove there two weeks ago. On the second dive we got a brief glimpse of about 10 hammerheads but otherwise didn't have much luck. Viz was good. I saw video from the trip a couple of days prior to ours and that had far more hammerheads, some at close range. I always dive with Sunshine Dive out of CSL whom I'd really recommend...and they offer free nitrox and free computer rental if one doesn't have one. I'm not sure they'll be practial as you'll be out in Cabo Pulmo...but they usually drive from CSL to the harbor in San Jose del Cabo from where their boat leaves, so you could potentially meet them there.

We also include free Nitrox for these dives blended to be the optimum mix for the dive and not just a "stock mix" as well as dive computers for all customers if required.
