Maybe only on your dive trips, you don't get that treatment?

Wow!!!
I am very glad I decided to read this thread.
I have gained tons of valuable information
regarding the original question.:D

Well, to give my answer to the original
question regarding websites. I answer this:
Rodales often posts reviews of gear but
I have found the most helpful information
on this website. The search button
and the right category provides an invaluable
tool for a newbie like myself. I spent
many hours reading on here and talking
to as many people as I could before I made
my gear purchases. Hope this helps
to the person who posed the original question.

I also started off (about a year ago) reading Rodales. I ended up purchasing an Oxycheq BP/Wing. As a new diver, I never would have even thought about that direction by reading Rodales. They just don't cover anything like that.

I still read their reviews (on stuff like Masks), but I now assume that their reviews are very slanted towards advertising.

Maybe one day they'll do a comparison on single tank wings :tease:

Well all types of BC has their own pro and cons. You just have to try them out for yourself b4 you would know the differences.

Beg, borrow or steal; a BP/wing, a jacketed style and a back inflation BC and try it for yourself.

I had used all 3 types and found the BP/wing to be the best. Mainly is because the jacketed style and Back inflated BC has a little more 'Inherent Bouyancy" than a BP/wing setup. You have to carry a little more weights to offset that. Switching from a Ranger to a BP/wing, I can reduce the weight from 7 pcs to 2 pcs.

All I can say is: try them out for your self b4 buying
