I wear the Converse (Chuck Taylor's).

They fit in my existing fins. I did not need to buy new fins to accomodate them.

... this, and price, is why I will be trying Chuck's FIRST when I have a chance to test out my first drysuit which just arrived. :) I really don't want to have to buy a set of drysuit fins...

Does anyone have experience with the Gzero Intruder boot?

What appeals to me about it is the ankle support. With all the weight of tank, weights, etc...walking down to the water seems like a twisted ankle waiting to happen. This appears to be a military style boot with a deep, thick sole, good traction and ankle support for rocky shores.

USIA have a couple of boot options, and one is a VERY heavy boot designed for shore diving. My instructor has those on his USIA suit (we're a dealer). However, a couple of months back, someone was asking a simila question on here and a poster sent a link to a waterproof boot that our military guys use. The boots were available to the public and the boot looked PERFECT for this application. I can't remember the name of the boot, but the thread was asking about diving in areas with broken glass, so that might work in a search...

If you find it, re-post that link. I want to save it.

The only Whites EVO 3 Maritime Assault Boot I located did not seem to be for sale to civilians.

I tried to search this forum for boots/broken glass combinations and never did find the link that PerroneFord remembered. Anyone else out there remember more details to track that reference down?

In reading some of the other posts, folks complained that rock boots (vs. low topped wetsuit boots) interferred with finning techniques. Any thoughts on that?

I love my Chuck Taylors. Cheap, comfortable, fit in my size L Jets. I've yet to have them come untied (I tie a good knot), and they don't blister my toes. On the other hand, I use them with my wetsuit (with polypro socks underneath), because my dry suit boots fit in my fins.

The CTs are a definite conversation piece.

I use the rock boots and I really like them. I do not tie them, I pull them tight then wrap them with the velcro they come with and I have never had a problem. I have Avanti Quattros and Tusa split fins that both fit the boots.

The boots that Perrone linked were actually the same boots that USIA sells. http://www.usia.com/consumer/?p=144. The only problem with these boots is that you generally have to size up 2-3 sizes. We sell a lot of them to Public Safety teams and they don't seem to mind. We also sell the Keen water bootie now. Not as heavy duty but I really like wearing them when I'm on sand. Not so much for rocks.

Here is a link to Bio Guys suit. He'll have to post a picture as his suit is built with some pretty snazzy Accents. http://www.usia.com/consumer/?p=154
