Good liveaboard for diving the Similans?

I am planning a liveaboard dive vacation to Phuket as well, and as far as I can tell the vast majority of operations there are good. So now I'd like to switch around the question this way: who should I avoid and are any of the cheaper liveaboards "cheap" as well as cheap?
