No, I don't plan to relocate to Cleveland. I've lived through enough Midwestern winters to last my lifetime.

I met a newly certified woman diver from Cleveland who was having a lot of trouble equalizing, and was in pain on several of her dives. I suggested she seek out a good eye-ear-throat doctor in the Cleveland area who knows about diving to check out her ears.

I'd appreciate it if those of you in that neck-of-the-woods could offer suggestions that I could pass on to her. Hmmm, maybe if she appreciates the input enough... I'll get her back to dive Catalina again!

Well if she is a DAN Member she can call them, and they will set her right up. I'm not sure if you can call them, for help or not if your NOT a member. I'm a member and had a heck of a time with my ears when I first started diving. I called them and they gave me a number of a ear guy who was also a diver and on the board of something of DAN and he set me right up good. I havent had ear problems since.

This is the ENT referred to me by DAN. He's the head of his department at the Cleveland Clinic and a diver. If I need an ENT again for anything dive related, I wouldnt' hesitate to do the drive from Cincinnati north to Cleveland to see him again.

Don't know any doctor in Cleveland, and if she is newly certified it might just be bad equalization technics. I had an extremely hard time when I started out due to a sinus condition, It would take me 20mn to go 20ft... Now that I have better technic, it takes me only a few seconds...

While your friend find a suitable doctor, she might be interested in watching the following movie:

I also know divers that use this product and tell me it really help:

Thanks all, especially PennyPue. I'll give her that name when I'm in touch later this week.
