Hello:

I'm heading down to Grand Cayman for a week of diving and relaxation at the end of March. My wife and I will be staying at the Marriott on Seven Mile Beach.

Looking for a recommendation for a dive shop that is either on Seven Mile Beach or will come to my hotel and pick me up each day. Not looking for anything too extreme, just want to see some different sites, get to the Kittiwake a time or two, and a night dive. A decent package price is always nice.

I've dove with Red Sail & Don Fosters in the past. Both were fine, but I'm interested in seeing some different things underwater.

Let me know.

Best,

John

EdenRock is on the same road just by the pier. There is another one (cant remember the name) just on the other side (towards the hotel) of the pier. Most dive ops aren't located ON 7mb, but many will come pick you up at your hotel.

I have dove with Neptunes in the past and I was very happy with them. Small boat, great crew, and they will pick you up.

I'm not sure how a different dive-op will lead to seeing different things in Grand Cayman. What kind of things were you thinking about?
If you want to see different things you might need to go to the Pacific or slow down and look harder. A magnifying glass helps a lot.
If you want to see lots of tarpon, go to the shore dive at Turtle reef. (Sun Divers)
There's always the Kittiwake with it's schools of horse-eye jacks.
There's only one mermaid that I know of .. at Sunset House reef. http://delargy.com/2011_01_Cayman/album/2011_02_caymandiving_Main.htm

There are also a couple of small goliath grouper (oxymoron?) that look to be taking up residence on the Kittiwake site.

I know th OP asked about dive ops, BUT.... While you are there on 7MB you have to go to eat at Chicken Chicken. Awesome food, and the price is good for Cayman. I wish I could get the recipe for thier sauce! In the same shopping center is a dive store with all the gear, t-shirts, etc you might want.

Try Wall to Wall
small groups, good people, nice big boats.
They dive the West and North primarily, depending on conditions.

Located at the Lobster Pot, just North of Georgetown. They will pick up and drop off.

I met Lisa Queen while shore diving at Sunset House. She invited me to do a night dive (on her own time, just for fun, and she picked me up at the resort). Lisa was a blast to dive with, and took me to the best dive spot that I had been to all week.

She works as an instructor at DNS

I can also say that I know Lisa from DNS and she is very helpful and a nice person . DNS has been my choice of dive ops for the last three years now,I like the way Dusty runs things.I am not saying others are bad,I have dove with most of the others.I don't think you can really go wrong with most dive Ops ,they all have their strong points.

I have been diving Cayman since 1980.

My comment to "see some different things" could have been rephrased to say - I want to visit dive sites other than those off seven mile beach.
